we'd like to update the fan page cover image with a promo capturing the excitement of this release.
Direction:
* limited copy - if any.
* big hero shot - show the fox hat, show the social feed, highlight the jewels
* blue background should work nicely - orange is an option too.
Just a note here in the bug. :)
William is in Asia for MozCamp, with little or no Interwebs. I leave Friday at noon EST for PTO.
If the image is done by the time I depart, I can change out the cover image. If not, Tara, I believe you and Laura have admin access to the Facebook page, and can add the image.
William returns to work on the 21st, and he can do it that day, should there be any delay.

Thanks Ty! these are great. i like both.
few questions:
* what do you recommend for the thumbnail image of the custom tab (it will live right below the cover image so i want to make sure there is a connection)
* is there a version of the cover image you think we could do that would include an artistic, clever, subtle, whimsical (whatever) arrow pointing to the custom tab thumbnail below it (currently it's the affiliates one). Chris suggested this and I think if it works it would be a nice nudge to click on the tab if someone lands on our page and the cover images intrigues them. wdyt?

also, do you think we really need to fade out the left side of the promo? It might be nice to have the full chrome showing - with the Firefox in the top left.
Does the "Firefox" on that image have to be blurred? Can we make it so it's not?
Tara - I'm sorry to be a pest, but we can't do an arrow pointing to any Facebook element per Facebook's rules for cover images
"No: References to user interface elements, such as Like or Share, or other Facebook site features."
https://www.facebook.com/help/480139172013267/?q=cover%20guidelines&sid=0mTF7twZo5w8aBK7P
We can escalate that if you'd like - but the risk of having our page turned off and losing 13 million fans is a HIGH risk.
It's simply against Facebook's rules. I'd strongly push back on the arrow. I know it's a pain in the patootie, but we have to follow Facebook's rules.

Thanks Carmen, Chelsea had mentioned that but I thought we could still try and weave something in... after thinking about i more I didn't even think the design would accomodate that so I punted - and then thought maybe Ty can explore it. So now we're back to punting :) rules are rules! Thanks Carmen -- that's a pretty neat page btw.
I agree that we shouldn't fade out the corner. Ty can you edit, please, and re-send? otherwise the graphic looks awesome.

Looks fantastic - I'm going to close, I guess I'll file a new bug for the custom tab thumbnail image.

Perfect! I'm not sure how that works with l10n, but this looks great to me.
Ty, last request: can you please do a mockup showing the cover image and this thumbnail in action? then we'll move on.

perfect!
I think the ad that Matt did could work here too - which echoes the screenshot and could be a nice subtle nod saying "hey! this is related to the image above...click me" but this is great for now. CLOSED !
wohoo.
